Welcome to my 1954 Mercedes-Benz 190SL Prototype Website. This site explores the history and development of what was arguably one of the most beautiful and rare European Sports Roadsters of the 1950s. Mercedes handcrafted only two examples, after which the design evolved into the production 190SL. I hope that you can find the information both informative and enjoyable. I am currently involved in a project to build a faithful recreation of the Racer or Rennsport version of the Prototype.
